My journey has lead me to embrace my gifts and align them with my purpose while pursuing that purpose with intention. That spark set me on a path of entrepreneurship. I was less concerned about being my own boss and more concerned about controlling my destiny, but most importantly, fulfilling what I believe is my purpose; connecting, facilitating, and motivating others to realize their dream and how to pursue that dream with purpose and intentionality.

What I can say is, all of the companies I have invested in share common traits… passionate driven individuals at the helm who are just as passionate about their product or service. More recently, he’s invested in Durham-based Graybeard Distillery, which produces Bedlam Vodka and is not Black owned; and Cary medtech startup NeuroVice, founded by a Black female founder.
“My goal isn’t to just look for equity opportunities but rather work with and serve as a resource for Black businesses,” he says. “If that work leads to equity, great. If it doesn’t, I’m good with that, too.”
